COVID-19 Vaccine Update

Happy February,

I hope you are well. The landscape for COVID-19 information is constantly changing. This is particularly true when it comes to vaccine distribution.

While we do not have the vaccine at the office, we have found the following resources for you. Included is information directly from their website and links.

Please keep in mind that the supply is limited. Even local large health systems are only receiving a limited amount from the Department of Health and while they may not have any right now, they will likely have them in the future.

In the meantime, continue to use good health hygiene, wear a mask, and practice distancing as much as practical.

Sincerely,

Dr. Orner

Resources:

Pennsylvania Department of Health

https://www.health.pa.gov/topics/disease/coronavirus/Vaccine/Pages/Vaccine.aspx#map
The website has a map of vaccine providers. I have found that not every place is offering the vaccine to the general public and the website mentions this.

The site also includes an eligibility checker.

Rite Aid
Rite Aid has a COVID COVID-19 Vaccine Scheduler online

https://www.riteaid.com/pharmacy/covid-qualifier
Additional schedule slots are open each day. However, you must log in each day to check if there are any appointments available.

If you are not able to use the online scheduler, you can call your local rite aid. Just be aware that they may be very busy during this time.

Weis Pharmacy

You will have to check their website to see if any slots are available. they fill quickly.
From their website: "Additional schedules will open on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday early mornings and again in the early to middle evening hours. There will be a limited amount of people able to schedule at one time. If you are not able to access the scheduler, please close your browser and try again in about 15 minutes."

Wellspan Health
COVID-19 Vaccine Availability
Per their website, "Due to the high demand for the COVID-19 vaccine, all available appointments have been filled. We ask for our community’s patience as we work to make more appointments available. Appointments will depend on vaccine availability.
While you are waiting for updates on new appointments, we encourage you to use or create a MyWellSpan account to make the appointment and scheduling process easier."

Lancaster General Health

https://www.lancastergeneralhealth.org/covid-19-information/covid-19-vaccines
Per their website, "We currently do not have enough supply to vaccinate everyone in Phase 1A. As vaccine supply increases, we will contact LG Health patients who meet the DOH eligibility requirements to schedule their vaccine. We currently are not able to schedule vaccine appointments for patients who call us."

They recommend registering for their patient portal while waiting for more information.
"We encourage you to create a MyLGHealth account to make the appointment and scheduling process easier when vaccines are available."
